The North Mayo Heritage Centre has joined forces with Kaffa Coffee who will be operating the cafe at the Centre from April 2020. Kaffa Coffee is owned and operated by Francis Bonner & Marek Dziduch. With over 15 years’ experience working in the coffee industry and working in the area Kaffa Coffee will bring a new dimension to the visitor experience at the Heritage Centre as well as additional job creation to the region. Marek explains: “at Kaffa we do everything from scratch, we roast our beans and create blends that are winning National Awards. Last year we won Silver at Blas na hEireann and also took home the highly commended award at the Irish Quality Food Awards for our coffee, over 200 expert judges from the Irish food industry tasted our coffee. When they made the decision to place us so high up the list it was an amazing feeling, we are incredibly proud of our achievements to date.” Kaffa Coffee has also been recognised by the GMIT New Frontiers programme as well as winning the 2019 KPMG Best Emerging Business Award.
The North Mayo Heritage Centre has been evolving and developing in recent years as explained by Hugh Trayer, Manager. “We wanted to find a young, energetic local company who we could work with. We are all about community involvement from the looped walks around the estate to the annual cultural programme. Kaffa Coffee was the perfect fit for the Centre and we look forward to a great working relationship and great tasting coffee every morning.”Kaffa Coffee will be open from April from 10am to 5pm and will operate 7 days a week from the begining of May
