Ballina Karen Community Garden wins at Dublin Green Communities Photography Awards

Ballina Karen Community Garden (an initiative of Mayo North East Partnership Company), scooped a first and a second prize in the Dublin Green Communities Photography Awards 2018. They won first prize in Gardening Activity and Nature in the Garden category while finishing second in the Landscapes and Cityscapes category.

Celebrating the beauty and diverse character of Ireland’s Community Gardens this new Green Communities photo competition promotes the best images of community green space projects from across the whole country in one exhibition.

The photography competition was opened to everyone, the only requirement being for photographs that feature volunteer community green spaces. By bringing together the best images of these gardens An Taisce Green Communities celebrates the success of community spirit in making Ireland a greener place for people, plants, and biodiversity.

Nearly 40 different community gardens, allotments, orchards and community parks entered the competition.
